Who we are
Tarnfield builds websites, web apps, desktop and mobile apps, and works from the UK and South Africa. For any question about this policy or your data, email us at tarnfield.studio@gmail.com.
This website
This website sets no cookies and uses no tracking or analytics.
If you send an enquiry through the form on the Start a project page, the details you type (your name, email or phone number, what you want built and any link you add) are passed by Web3Forms, a form service, to our email inbox. We use them only to reply to you about your project.
As with any website, the services that deliver it see your IP address and browser details when you connect: Cloudflare, which hosts this site, and Web3Forms when you send the form.
Our WhatsApp assistant
When you send a message to Tarnfield's WhatsApp number, it is received through Meta's WhatsApp Business Cloud API and passed to an AI assistant, Anthropic's Claude, so that it can reply to you.
At the moment this is limited to approved test numbers.
What data is processed
When you message our WhatsApp number, we process:
- your phone number
- your WhatsApp profile name
- the content of your messages
- the times your messages are sent and received
Who processes it
Meta, which runs WhatsApp, receives and delivers the messages. Anthropic, which makes Claude, processes the content of the messages so that the assistant can write a reply. Each handles the data under its own privacy policy:
These companies may process data outside the UK.
What we don't do
We do not sell your data or share it for advertising. We do not send marketing messages.
How long we keep it
We keep WhatsApp messages only as long as we need them to reply to you, and we keep them on our own computer.
Deleting your data
You can ask us to delete your data at any time. Email tarnfield.studio@gmail.com and tell us the phone number or email address the data relates to. We will delete it within 30 days.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR), you have the right to:
- be told how your data is used
- get a copy of the data we hold about you
- have it corrected if it is wrong
- have it deleted
- ask us to limit how we use it, or object to how we use it
- receive your data in a form you can take elsewhere
- not be subject to decisions made only by automated means that have legal or similarly significant effects on you
To use any of these rights, email tarnfield.studio@gmail.com.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.
